Mr Heaton listened to my Health issues and explained in detail the surgery I would need to fix and help with the pain. When the time came for the surgery he again explained the procedure from going into the hospital to leaving and the recovery time with exercises. I felt he was professional and caring. A great asset to the NHS.

I am a 65 year old female with a BMI of 47!! Im not proud of this but thanks to an illness and massive levels of steroids to treat it i gained 4:5 stones in six months!! This further impacted on my already bad right hip. This finally become bone on bone. So had to be replaced. Ive always been a very active person going three times a week to the gym and swimming twice a week. On top of which i had my own horse. Mr Heaton agreed to replace the hip and he and his team worked together as an amazing team. My hip is fully working and completely pain free. I was able to drive after six weeks. My mobility is greatly improved from my right hip. Im now hoping that i can get my knees replaced in the future. I cant thank Mr Heaton and his team enough

I had been suffering from Osteoathritis for many years and was taking very high doses of anti-inflamatory pills and painkillers. When my chance of knee replacements was declined by my local hospital, I was referred to Mr Heaton. He took a fresh look at my case and agreed to take on a total knee replacement for me. He listened to me and explained carefully what the risks and benefits would be and showed great care and understanding. My knee operation took place within 8 weeks and was a success. The care given pre and post operation by Mr Heaton and his team was exemplary and I am very grateful. I am now looking forward to my second knee replacement with Mr Heaton in the near future.

THIS MAN IS AMAZING! since August last year I was suffering from numbness and extreme pain in my right leg which I thought was the Statins that I was advised to take after my yearly check up at the Doctors surgery. I was advised to stop taking the statins in September, but the pain still persisted. I eventually contacted my Doctor's surgery in November 2023 and they sent me for an immediate walk in X-Ray at Johnsons Hospital in Spalding on 2nd November 2023, the results came back within a few days showing I had severe arthritis in my right hip. I was then given a date to see Mr. Heaton for November 28th 2023 and during my visit he explained what I had got and was surprised to find out that is was Advanced Severe Degenerative Osteoarthritis which had been coming on for 10 years, I was shocked to say the least! He asked at that point what painkillers I was taking and at time was Paracetamol, he said if he pain got worse to contact him directly and he will see me again. In January I contacted him again by which time I was on Nuromol 4 times a day and the pain was excruciating, and I was not sleeping, he saw me again on 30th January and immediately put me down for Total Hip Replacement, which should be within 8 to 12 weeks and this would be done at Grantham and District Hospital, he also advised 'no golfing, no jive dancing, no extreme exercising and ONLY gentle walking, so no weekly walking club in case the hip cracked which would then be a major problem. A number of pre-op checks were done over the next few weeks and was given a date of Thursday 11th April. The check in at Grantham Hospital was speedy on the day and I was second one down for surgery, with an Epidural anaesthetic, everything went well and I was back in the ward by 4 pm and walking about by 5 pm once I had recovered from the numbness of the Epidural, the nurses and the doctors on the Ward 1 were superb and nothing was too trouble. My appetite soon returned and drinking fluids was first on my list! I had an amazing nights sleep and for the first time in nearly 8 months I was free of pain. Mr Heaton and his team of doctors and nurses were absolutely fantastic, helpful and caring and I had the best care ever! Even the district nurse that visited me at home to remove my dressing and the follow up on 24th April to remove the clips from my leg said the wound was healing very well. I had my final consultation with Mr Heaton on 29th May (7 weeks after my op) and walked into his consultation room unaided and pain free, I had stopped taking paracetamol 2 weeks before and the walking stick is used very rarely. Mr Heaton also said that the hip would last at least 15 to 20 years, he also showed me the before and after X-Ray and the left hip is till perfect.Still doing the special exercise's they gave me initially but increasing the level weekly. Again I sincerely thank everyone involved in my care especially Mr. Heaton, if it wasn't for him and his team I would be just another statistic. So BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED, if it wasn't for those dedicated people I would be a 'wreck".
